  • Maharashtra: Out of 21 cases of Delta plus variant detected in Maharashtra, 9 are from Ratnagiri, 7 from Jalgaon, 2 from Mumbai, and one each from Palghar, Thane & Sindhudurg. We are ascertaining their vaccination status & travel history.

  • PGIMER, Chandigarh has been sanctioned funds from UT Admin for COVID -19 serosurvey among the paediatric population. Survey is expected to start this week & will involve over 2000 children & is expected to be over in one month's time

    1. Centre will buy 75% of total vaccine production from manufacturers and give it to States free of cost; no state government will have to spend on procurement
    2. All above 18 years of age in the country will get free vaccination at government facilities
    3. Vaccine distribution to states/UTs will be based on population, Covid burden, and inoculation progress, among other such criteria
    4. Private sector hospitals will continue to procure 25% of vaccines directly from manufacturers, with service charge capped at Rs 150 per dose over fixed price
    5. All government and private vaccination centers will provide onsite registration facility, available both for individuals and groups as well
    6. The procedure of onsite registration will be detailed and finalized by states/UTs
